Terms
1. Eligibility
1.1 FLARE (Female Leaders and Rising Entrepreneurs) is open to female applicants aged 18 or over who are resident in Jersey.
1.2 Applicants may apply if they:

Have a new business idea ready to be launched;

Are a founder in the early stages of a business; or
-
Are running an established business looking to scale, diversify, or strengthen their brand.

Applications must be submitted by the named individual(s) responsible for the business or idea.
1.3 Employees of All Island Media, competition partners, and members of the judging panel (and their immediate families) are not eligible to apply.
2. Application Process
2.1 Applications open on 8 October 2025 and close on 8 January 2026.
2.2 Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
2.3 All information provided must be accurate and truthful to the best of the applicant’s knowledge. Misrepresentation may result in disqualification.
2.4 By applying, applicants consent to their details being used for the purposes of administering FLARE and for associated publicity (see Section 6).
3. Judging & Selection
3.1 Applications will be reviewed and shortlisted by the FLARE judging panel in January 2026.
3.2 Shortlisted applicants may be invited to take part in mentoring, consultancy sessions, and/or pitching opportunities in February 2026.
3.3 The judges will assess applicants using the published criteria, which include:

Entrepreneurial vision and innovation

Business performance and scalability
-
Community impact and leadership
-
Strategic use of the prize
3.4 The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome.
4. The Prize
4.1 The winner will be announced in the FLARE International Women’s Day supplement in March 2026.
4.2 The winner will receive £20,000 in marketing support from All Island Media during 2026. This will consist of multi-channel advertising space and associated marketing services (including design, content, and photography) as determined by All Island Media in consultation with the winner.
4.3 The prize is non-transferable, has no cash alternative, and must be used in accordance with the agreed plan.
4.4 The winner agrees to collaborate with All Island Media to ensure that the support is utilised within the 2026 calendar year. Unused elements of the package may be forfeited.
5. Other Benefits
5.1 All eligible applicants will receive editorial coverage in the FLARE International Women’s Day supplement in March 2026.
5.2 Selected applicants may also be invited to take part in podcasts, additional editorial features, and media exposure at the discretion of All Island Media.
6. Publicity & Media Use
6.1 By entering, applicants agree that their name, image, and business story may be used in publicity materials relating to FLARE, including print, digital, audio, and social media.
6.2 Applicants may be required to take part in reasonable promotional activity at no additional cost.
7. Liability
7.1 All Island Media accepts no responsibility for technical failures, lost applications, or delays beyond its control.
7.2 All Island Media is not responsible for any costs incurred by applicants in preparing or submitting their applications.
7.3 The marketing support package will be delivered with reasonable care and skill; however, All Island Media makes no guarantee of specific business outcomes (such as sales or revenue growth).
8. General
8.1 By applying, applicants are deemed to have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
8.2 All Island Media reserves the right to amend, suspend, or withdraw FLARE or these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice, if circumstances make this unavoidable.
